TV Chef, Gino D'Acampo Live at The Cooking School
The Cooking School was delighted to be joined by TV Chef Gino D'Acampo on 27 March 2010 for an exclusive Master Class. On this exclusive hands-on course Gino demonstrated and taught course participants to cook healthy Italian recipes from his most recent The Italian Diet recipe book including Mixed Seafood Linguine with Chilli and Cherry Tomatoes, Bruchetta with Black Olive Tapenade and Ricotta and Vanilla Tiramisu. The 'King of the Jungle' Gino made this an unforgettable day and described The Cooking School as 'the best Cooking School in Europe!'
The Cooking School Royal Visit
The Cooking School was delighted to welcome Princess Royal, Princess Anne on 30 October. The Princess Royal joined the team to see the work of The Cooking School and the Focus on Food Campaign. She was presented with a hamper of goodies for lunch, and a carrot and molasses cake, which had been made for her horses.
The Princess Royal unveiled a special commemorative message, which had been etched on to a mirror in The Cooking School and said "Thank you for all the work, not just here, but all you do through the charity. It's really of great value."
The Cooking School wins Yorkshire Life Food & Drink Newcomer of the Year Award
The Cooking School has won the prestigious Yorkshire Life Food & Drink Awards Newcomer of the Year award. The ceremony held at the Queen's Hotel in Leeds, was presented by food critic Jay Rayner. The annual awards highlights excellence and diversity across Yorkshire in the food and wine industry.
