The Halifax area
Halifax, a town which thrived during the industrial revolution, was at the centre of the world woollen trade in the 19th century. It is in the heart of the Pennines and surrounded by stunning countryside and villages as well as being close to the cosmopolitan cities of Leeds and Manchester.
The area is a popular base for tourists wishing to visit the unique Piece Hall, Eureka! The Interactive Museum for Children and a few miles away Hebden Bridge, the Bronte country of Howarth, the Keighley and Worth Valley Steam Railway and the Summer Wine country in Holmfirth.
