CHRISTA COOKS WITH KAUSHY

We were delighted to welcome Christa Ackroyd from BBC Look North to The Cooking School for a one-to-one cooking lesson from Kaushy Patel from Prashad Indian Restaurant ahead of our 'Secrets of Prashad' Indian Cooking course the first date of which is on Saturday.

FANTASTIC FISH

THE FISH REALLY WAS FANTASTIC ON FRIDAY'S COURSE!
Everyone had a great time on Friday 24 June 2011 learning to scale, clean, fillet and pin-bone in our practical hands-on Fantastic Fish course under Matthew's expert eye.
The partcipants learned to prepare delicious Prawn Patia (a Persian-style curry), Marinated Mackerel, The Cooking School's Fabulous Fish Pie, and Thai Fish Cakes all using only sustainably caught fish. Chris Toole said "the whole day was very professional - from the home baked bread on arrival, through the demonstrations, discussions and equipment right through to the tasting sessions. I had a brilliant time!"

MADE IN YORKSHIRE WITH ANNIE STIRK

A huge thank you to Annie Stirk for being our guest chef on Made in Yorkshire - Sunday Best on Saturday 18 June 2011. Everyone had a fantastic day cooking and sampling the finest Yorkshire produce under the guiding hands of Annie and Matthew.
Annie's wealth of knowledge was apparent not only in the cooking demonstrations but also personal interest she showed to all the participants.
Alexandra Mulley described her day as "The best Birthday present ever!" We all look forward to welcoming Annie and our course participants back to The Cooking School soon!

OVER 200 PEOPLE AT COOKING SCHOOL OPEN DAY

Over 200 people watched Matthew create plate after plate of perfect Ravioli at our very successful Open Day on Saturday 10 June 2011. We thank everyone who came on Saturday and hope we will see you back at the school again very soon!
